YMCA WATER FITNESS
Allow the water to be your medium to improved fitness. The waterís buoyancy provides a safer workout for your bodyís joints, yet provides resistance for muscle toning. You donít have to be a member to attend these classes. Use our 15 class punch card for any of the classes listed below. The card expires 1 year from date of purchase.
There are over 30 Water Fitness Classes offered weekly. Classes range from arthritis range-of-motion level classes to high intensity level cardiovascular and muscular endurance classes.
Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program (low intensity) 30 minutes All exercises used in this 30 minute class are endorsed by the National Arthritis Foundation. If you have health concerns or arthritis, this is the class for you. This beginning level class provides gentle range of motion exercises. (family pool)
Aquacise (low to mid intensity) 45 minutes The next step up from the Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program class. Provides a gentle range of motion, and elevates your heart rate to build some cardiovascular fitness. A maintenance and strengthening class. (family pool)
S.B.B. (mid to high intensity) 60 minutes Tone your muscles and elevate your heart rate!!! Three early morning times offered to help you get a jump start on your day. (lap pool)
Rise and Shine (mid to high intensity) 60 minutes A vigorous class which focuses most on toning legs, arms, and abdominals. Will also provide a great cardiovascular workout. Both shallow and deep water workouts provided. (lap pool)
Water Works (mid to high intensity) 45 minutes A great way to end your day. Both shallow and deep water workouts will be provided. Focuses on muscular endurance and toning. (family pool)
